Comparative Genomics of Streptomyces albidoflavus

Workshop    April 18, 2026

Bioinformatics Institute    Online

A hands-on workshop on comparative genomics using Python. The case study centered on Streptomyces albidoflavus SM254 – a soil bacterium with antifungal activity against Pseudogymnoascus destructans, the causative agent of White-Nose Syndrome in bats. Participants worked with precomputed eggNOG-mapper annotations to build and interpret KEGG pathway profiles using KEGGaNOG.

Introduction to phylogenetic analysis with Python and R programming

Workshop    May 15, 2025 – May 16, 2025

Mongolian National University of Education, Department of Biology    Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 🇲🇳

A hands-on workshop on phylogenetic analysis using Python and R. The pipeline covered MSA with MAFFT, trimming with trimAl, model selection via ModelFinder, and tree inference using IQ-TREE2. Phyloki were used for metadata integration, with final visualizations generated in ggtree.
